Spring Break - San Diego

On Nolan's Spring Break from school, we drove over to San Diego to visit some family friends...
and go to SEA WORLD!
We had soooo much fun and had such beautiful weather.
We, of course, took in all the shows...

Waved to Shamu.
In fact, Shamu just had a baby the month before and we got to see it for a minute.  Couldn't get a picture.  But, it was amazing how "small" a 6 ft. whale looked in comparison to the Big Shamu! Lol.

We also saw the dolphin show.

And then spent quite awhile at the dolphin tank watching them play.  The dolphins interact with the crowd here.

If you look at the top left of the picture below, you can make out a football that the dolphin was "throwing" to the crowd.  So fun!

Of course, all the amazing tanks were fun to see.

They got to touch stingrays and starfish too!

At the end of the day, we went on some rides... I think Laura is going to be a ride enthusiast!

We also spent a day at the beach.  And they have some gorgeous beaches there!  Loved this San Diego skyline.

While at Coronado, there was a lot of air traffic due to the navy ships and planes.  Nolan especially enjoyed that.  The ship they are standing in front of here is actually a museum and was an aircraft carrier.  It was HUGE!!  Nolan Loved it!

Walking the boardwalk one evening to this statue was so pretty!

And this neat memorial...

We also went to Old Town and the kids got a kick out of these metal "statues".

We are SO grateful to our friends for having us and playing our tour guide!!  Love you guys!!!

But...here was my absolute favorite part of the trip....
While we were at the beach, there was a pod of dolphins that played within sight of us for most of the time we were there.  They came into the pretty shallow area for awhile and we got our own
Reality Sea World!  Love it!!
