Demo Derby

Once upon a time (in 1984), Uncle George (Frank’s uncle) bought a brand new, shiny red, big, loooong Mercury Grand Marquis. He owned it for many years (almost 20), but didn’t get around much (so very little mileage). So, Jason (Frank’s brother) bought it and he DID get around much and put many miles on the beloved car. Well, a few months ago, Jason decided it was time to retire the Great Grand Marquis. So, he chose a Demolition Derby Nursing Home. In the care of tough-loving friends, the Grand Marquis got a make-over! The face-lift did wonders and brought back youth and vitality to the tired ol’ machine. After a “nice” paint job and many “nips – n – tucks” … the “Big Day” arrived. On Friday night, THE Grand Marquis made its Grand entrance into the Ozaukee County Demolition Derby.

It crashed, pummeled, flung mud and wrecked havoc on 40 other contestants . . . and PULLED OUT THE WIN!!! Jason was so proud…it brought a tear to his eye … oh wait, those were raindrops from the 2 hours of rain we sat through. In any case…we had a great time!
